Tamarind Date Chutney

Tamarind chutney is also known as Imli khajur ki chutney . When you are thinking of pakoda ,samosa ,kachori and chaat then no one else can accomplish other than tamarind date chutney. This chutney make your snacks lip smacking and heavenly as it is sweet ,tangy and spiced sauce.

List Your Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cup seedless tamarind/ imli (Soaked)

  2. 1/2 cup seedless dates/khajoor

  3. 1/2 cup jaggery/ gud

  4. 2 tsp fennel seeds

  5. 2 tsp coriander seeds

  6. 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  7. 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder/ Lal mirch powder

  8. 1/2 tsp ginger powder/ sonth powder

  9. 1/4 tsp black salt powder

  10. 2 cup water, 3 cup to adjust consistency

  11. 1/2 tsp amchoor powder (mango powder)

  12. 2 tsp oil

  13. as per taste Salt

 

Steps


1. In a pan add tamarind, jaggery, dates, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds, pour 2 cup water mix, and let the mixture boil for 10 minutes.


2. Mix and mash tamarind and dates, furthermore simmer the mixture for 2 minutes. later allow the mixture to cool completely.


3. Now transfer the mixture to a blender and blend smooth puree. further strain the purée.


4. In a wok now add 2 tsp of vegetable oil and sprinkle some cumin seeds, crackled then add tamarind and date purée and mix well, now add all the powder spice from ingredients then add some water to adjust consistency. boil the mixture for another 10 minutes or as per your requirement.


5. Lip-smacking Chutney is ready to use when cools completely. Refrigerate for up to a month or freeze for about 6 months.
